Artist Statement
My artistic work expresses a personal approach to abstraction, from a point of view that has nothing to do with the gentleness and sweetness usually associated with it. Discussing our darkest and deepest desires and violent nature echoes through psychoanalysis and esoteric philosophies.
In delving into the complexities of the human mind, I discovered that still life enabled me to delve into my own emotions and uncover hidden aspects of my vulnerability and fears, fostering a deep appreciation for this genre as a means of self-exploration. Embracing what society typically criticizes reveals a fundamental part of human nature that influences how we perceive life.
